Sarah

I first visited Brooklyn Strength at the original Columbia Place location in 2015. I sought Cadence's help with anxiety that was consistently at a panic level. She taught me that hunger is not a sign of failure, but a normal, healthy signal that we should pay attention to. She taught me that nutrition isn't nearly as complicated as trends would lead us to think, and that our bodies thank us when we feed them adequately. When I moved to Vermont a few years ago, one of the things I missed about the city was my regular Wednesday night Strength & Contrology class with Cadence. Now, thanks to the mixed blessing of COVID, I can join her classes online! Rather than making you toned (which I now know thanks to her podcast was made up by the fitness and diet industry because women aren't supposed to be strong), Cadence focuses on what I would describe as physical intelligence. Strength, for sure, but also proprioception, balance, body awareness, and mobility. Her classes are unlike any that I've taken, and I recommend them to anyone who wants to connect with and learn about their body!
