I help you find a consistent movement practice for life, not just when everything falls into place.

Standing firmly against fad fitness since 2010, and fully online since 2020, Cadence founded Brooklyn Strength as a safe space from hustle-perfection-punishment based fitness culture.

‘A comfortable, easeful, strong body happens when we learn how to meet our needs, again and again and again, without rigidity or shame.’

– Cadence Dubus

There is no one way of exercising that will keep us interested, that will be physically available to us, that will fit in our schedules for the rest of our lives.

On top of that - if we are flooded with stress, self consciousness and confusion during exercise, if we have a history of distrusting our body and feeling disconnected from our needs and physical signaling system, it makes perfect sense that we will feel overwhelmed, helpless and eventually give up - often blaming ourselves for what feels like a failure.

We need a practice that meets us where we are in our body and our life with flexibility and ease. A practice that adapts to our daily physical needs now, while teaching us the mental and physical skills to adapt our practice as we change and shift in the future.

Ready to start now?
Join our one week reset and try classes that support you to take care of your body, while developing strength and awareness, all week long.

We should not feel shame that our work, our family, the obligations and interests that make up our lives, take precedence over a 6AM gym alarm.

At Brooklyn Strength - Cadence teaches self-awareness fostering a deep understanding of the 'why' of each exercise. Confusion and body distrust are dispelled through classes rooted in self-reflection and body inclusivity. Together, we question 'form', perfection focus and the common myths and judgements of body size, body type and fitness level, freeing ourselves to connect deeply to our own bodies with awe and gratitude.

At Brooklyn Strength, Cadence offers several paths towards a movement practice that works for you.
