Somatic First Aid

With Caroline Contillo

Mind-body tools & community for the long haul

We are living in a time of both acute stress and chronic crisis. Many of us live and work in fields where we have to get through both chronic instability and the sudden stressors that arise in our lives.

Somatic First Aid provides tools and connection for the purpose of being able to manage some of the more sudden and acute stressors. Gain resilience so that we can continue to do the work of changing the systems responsible for these ongoing crisis conditions, and/or resource these tools to help navigate the micro-climate of your own life.

About the course:

Somatic tools include mindful awareness of our bodies, movement strategies, and physical approaches that help us expand our capacity for safe and social connection with ourselves and others. Each class will include facilitated check-ins, time for learning and practice, as well as time to connect with other participants and find strategies for putting what we’ve learned into practice.

No experience is necessary to participate. Please feel free to drop in for one or two of the series. Those who can participate in all three will benefit from check-ins about how they have been able to implement practices throughout the week, and help troubleshooting obstacles.

Course Content:

  • Three 60 Min LIVE Virtual Classes every Sunday, 11:30am EST (1/19, 1/26, and 2/2)
